A Rooftop celebration. 10.06.

Jeff and Lisa’s wedding was absolutely fabulous.  You can’t go wrong with a beautiful bride, a rooftop venue, and guests who love to party.  I just loved the traditional and reverent ceremony at St. Peter’s followed by dancing and celebrating on the rooftop of the Mint Museum.  Pranee and I had a blast getting to follow everyone around on the dance floor.  This wedding definitely displayed the best of Charlotte for all of the out of town guests.  I have to say that I was honored to be a part of Jeff and Lisa’s big day.  All the best to the both of you!

a winter wonderland wedding 29.12.

Although there was no snow, this couple had a beautiful wedding during the beginning of the Charleston winter season.  Matt and Christina are such a precious couple, and by the outcome of their wedding I could tell they were dearly loved by all in attendance.  I’ve never been to a wedding where everyone had so much fun especially while dancing their hearts out on the dance floor.  Capturing this wedding was a blast because everyone at the wedding exuded such a joyous spirit. Sometimes I couldn’t decide whether to take a picture or to stand back and take in the sweetness of the wedding- I ended up taking the picture so those moments could live on.  This wedding brought out the best photographer in me for that very reason. This wedding reminded me that sometimes the greatest beauty is realized from an outsider’s perspective.  I did not know this couple well, but being able to carry a camera with me down the aisle of the church and in the hall of the reception allowed me to take in the wholeness of this couple’s love and the happiness that they have for each other.  Matt and Christina- your wedding truly was a winter wonderland!

Med School and Marriage 01.11.

This is a bride who deserves a honeymoon. I was absolutely amazed by Allison’s beauty and her ability to be in med school while planning her wedding. I think it is crazy enough to be married to a medical student, but Allison is not only marrying one but is one herself! What a woman! Allison was a true joy to shoot. Being with her reminded me that we only have one life to live, so why not live it to the fullest. Medical school and marriage are both such rewarding endeavors, and together they make a beautiful marathon of life. I didn’t know Allison before the photo shoot, but the short time I was with her made me step back and appreciate the life we are given. No matter how crazy it gets- all you need is love. I wish you both the best in your adventures in medicine and marriage. Never forget the love you have for each other and the love you have for medicine. You both will do great things in this life.

the joyful Hairgoves 24.07.

This is the most precious family on the block. They could not stop laughing at each other. This is another set of friends I will be sad to leave next week. I am excited that when I come back to visit there will be a new addition to their family. Angie and Preston are the first couple I’ve got to watch go through pregnancy. This is a family doing things right. These two have such admiration for one another. Their love and faithfulness has made this pregnancy a beautiful process to see. You guys are going to be amazing parents. Thank you two for sharing your lives with me. I absolutely love hanging around you too. You guys really do life with the joy of the Lord as your strength.

Starting at the end 21.07.

This is my first blog, but one of my last in my current home of Charlotte, NC. My husband Ted and I are so sad to leave all of our friends we’ve made in the last few years in Charlotte. In less than two weeks we are headed to Charleston, SC. Instead of being sad I’ve decided to make the best of the situation by posting about our latest adventure with some of our awesome friends. Thanks to Malachi, we all got to experience the goodness of the small South Carolina town of Pageland. If it wasn’t for him we would not even know this place exists let alone throws the biggest watermelon festival in South Carolina. Yay for watermelon and the Loffer family.

I think Pranee wanted Ted’s watermelon slice and that confused Malachi.

So civilized.

I had to get some of that Pageland watermelon too.

Love these two

so much.

I don’t know when we’ll be back. Bye Pageland.
